I'm an award-­winning journalist based in Chicago who has worked on staff at major daily newspapers. My work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Newsweek, Grist, Civil Eats and Next City. My reporting background includes features, news­-features, investigative, news, magazine writing, travel and some international news­-feature writing. I’m highly creative and excellent at coming up with story ideas and pursuing enterprise work. My experience includes online reporting, some photography and video work. Most recently, I’ve reported on sustainability and environmental issues, however, I’ve covered everything from politics to cultural affairs.

 

Eternally curious and an avid reader, I fell in love with books and writing while still in my single­-digit years. An ideal life for me would include traveling in an old VW Westfalia in search of stories.
